Pyramid of Light above Santa Barbara
In the Summer of 2012 a Pyramid of Light will appear above the beach of Santa Barbara. This is the intention of the Dutch artist Rob Schrama.

The Pyramid of Light is a contemporary demonstration for peace, which can be brought into realization in every city. A centralized open space forms the location. At the corners of this space 4 powerful laser beams are set up. In Santa Barbara this will happen on the West Beach, Stearns Warf and on the pier of Santa Barbara Harbor.

In the evening hours the lasers will shoot their green fluorescent light into the universe and thus form a pyramid. From far and wide the rays can be seen and will attract the observers towards it. Underneath this light sculpture people transform their anxiety about the situation in the world into a positive manifestation for peace.

By means of meditation, prayer, by singing mantras and songs, by making music, listening to each other's stories, by sharing food and drink around a campfire, or floating in a boat on the water, the community of Santa Barbara will celebrate peace together. This is meant as an example for all areas in the world where people are fighting each other.

Light is bridging mortality & eternity, heaven & earth, as does a pyramid. With the Pyramid of Light Rob Schrama honors a request of Allan Silberhartz to participate in the Bridging Heaven & Earth Art Project. Photos and videos of the light event will be exhibited.

Rob Schrama calls up all peacemakers, healers, musicians, dancers and singers of Santa Barbara to participate on the Pyramid of light and to support the preparations of it.
